Dr. David Engel began editing scientific papers during his PhD studies at Cornell University's Department of Communication in Upstate New York. After teaching as a professor of communication and then working for 15 years as a technical editor for various firms in the Washington DC area, Dr. Engel recently returned to teaching, a field he has always loved. Currently, Dr. Engel is employed as a middle school science teacher in northern Virginia, combining his passion for working with school children and his conviction that to be convincing, science must be communicated with clarity and style. Dr. Engel also is active as an amateur musician in the Washington DC area, playing violin in numerous chamber groups and in the Symphony of the Potomac. Dr. Engel continues to pursue editing as an avocation and welcomes the opportunity to lend his extensive experience in technical, scientific, and creative writing to your projects.
