Associate professor Mina Nicole Händel has research experience in nutritional epidemiology, which has involved primary interventions among young obesity-prone children in a randomized controlled setting, as well as observational studies, examining the influence of maternal nutrient status during pregnancy and offspring bone health in childhood using Danish national registries, biobanks, as well as comprehensive longitudinal birth cohorts. Currently, she is leading the research project CHAMPS IV (Svendborgprojektet). In this project, she examines lifestyle determinants in early life of bone health, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease in young adulthood using register-based data, as well as collected cohort data. Moreover, she works as a methodological consultant at the Danish Health Authority, where she conducts systematic reviews and meta-analyses for the National Clinical Guidelines following GRADE methodology.
